Dr. Shrestha is the Executive Director of NDRI since February 2022. He has a PhD (Engineering) in Integrated River Basin Management and a Postdoc from the University of Yamanashi, Japan. He has more than 10 years of interdisciplinary research experience in the areas of water, agriculture and environment. Specifically, his research has covered areas of water and crop quality assessment, wastewater irrigation issues, vegetable consumers’ health risk assessment, solid waste management, climate risk assessment, flood risk assessment and non-point source pollution modeling, among others. 

Dr. Shrestha is the recipient of “The WET Excellent Presentation Award” at the Water and Environment Technology Conference 2016, August 28, 2016 at Chuo University, Tokyo, Japan for his research on health risk assessment from the use of contaminated water. Dr. Shrestha is also a Guest Reviewer of various national and international journals (anonymous).

Ms. Deepa Luintel holds MBA degree specialization in finance. She is an accomplished and highly skilled Admin and Finance Management Professional with a decade of experience in the field of project management and financial administration.  One of the highlights of her career was being awarded a Gold Medal for securing top most position in MBA, finance. She has managed and led cross-functional teams to successfully execute projects, consistently achieving objectives within budget and timeline constraints. Her ability to analyze financial data, develop strategic financial plans, and implement cost-saving initiatives has resulted in significant bottom-line improvements for the organizations she has worked with. Her unwavering dedication to excellence, coupled with a strong educational background, has enabled her to consistently deliver outstanding results throughout her career.

Mr. Silwal was born and raised in Lalitpur, Godawari, Nepal. He is a passionate and highly professional development worker with over 5 years of experience in non-governmental organizations. He has extensive experience in Finance, Administration, and Procurement. With a degree in Business Studies, this conscientious and hardworking young man seeks to leverage strong management skills and expertise.

His area of expertise are Financial/Procurement Management, Administration/Logistic Management, and  Project Management

Ashma Aryal a cheerful, and positive individual with over five years of work experience in the field of outreach and communications. She has completed her Master’s in Economics from Tribhuvan University and Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Kathmandu University. Throughout her career, Ashma has demonstrated a genuine passion for connecting with people and spreading positive messages. Her cheerful and positive personality creates an inviting atmosphere, making her an effective communicator.

In her role as an Outreach and Communication Officer, Ashma has consistently excelled in developing and implementing successful outreach strategies. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Aryal maintains a strong commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in outreach and communication. She actively seeks opportunities to expand her knowledge and skills, ensuring that her work remains innovative and impactful. Overall her communication skills, coupled with her dedication to outreach and communication, make her ideal for driving successful initiatives and fostering meaningful connections with diverse audiences.

Seetal Luitel is a dedicated professional who holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from St. Xavier's College, affiliated with Kathmandu University. Throughout her academic journey, Seetal actively engaged in internships with various NGOs, including CWIN Nepal, Nepal Jesuit Social Institute (NJSI), Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS), and Campaign for Human Rights and Social Transformation Nepal (CAHURAST). Currently, she serves as a Secretary at Jestha Nagarik Aaram Ghar, while simultaneously holding the position of Front Desk Officer at Nepal Development Research Institute. Seetal's commitment to the social field is evident in her multifaceted roles, showcasing her passion for contributing to positive societal change. Her experiences and high level of devotion underscore her determination to make a meaningful impact in the realm of social work.
