Dr. Krishna Pahari, Senior Research Specialist (NDRI) (Livelihoods, Food Security, and
Geo-Information), delivered a special lecture at the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Japan on September 28, 2023. The lecture, titled "Serving Humanity through Data and Evidence: Utilizing Remote Sensing and GIS," focused on his experience at the institute since 1994 and the significant role it plays in promoting Remote Sensing and GIS. Dr. Pahari also emphasized the application of geo-information technologies in humanitarian contexts and the emerging challenges. The audience comprised faculty members, graduate students, and researchers at the Institute.
Similarly, on October 3, 2023, Dr. Pahari conducted a seminar at the Department of Human Ecology, School of International Health, University of Tokyo. The seminar, titled "Reflections from the World Food Programme: Serving Humanity through Data and Evidence," delved into the challenges associated with addressing hunger and its connection
to human ecology.
